Back in 2005, whilst working as a primary school teacher in Tower Hamlets (and undertaking training in holistic massage), I happened upon the massage in schools instructor training. Seeing the unique and positive effect this had on the pupils in my care, and inspired by my tutor (Sylvie Hetu) I decided to delve in a bit further and also undertook the infant massage instructor training. I took a little leap and launched my first baby massage classes in 2007.
Buddha Baby has since, grown very organically, and far beyond my original intentions. Through its evolution and accompanied by a developing yoga practice, I have learned to trust my instincts, follow the path that presents itself and develop the faith that I am always in the right place at the right time! Guided by this philosophy... many training sessions and a lot of learning later, Buddha Baby looks how it does today!
September 2017 sees me celebrating 10 years in business! I am proud to say that in this time I have introduced baby massage, yoga and music to many local families and have supported lots of parents to find the sling/carrier that suits them! In 2016 I launched Sling Swing East London, bringing babywearing and dance together which has been an amazingly joyful experience! Over the past year, I went back to my original interest in holistic body massage and launched this exciting addition to Buddha Baby in June 2017!
My favourite place in all the world is Bali, Indonesia but I love nothing more than baking in my little pink kitchen with the door swung open to the back garden and the radio on. My passions are education for all, most things holistic, finding happiness in simple things... and seahorses!
I currently run Buddha Baby alongside my other job, as a subject specialist for the PSHE Association.
